” You never understand the true beauty of Mt. McKinley until your up at 12,000 feet!. The Mt. McKinley Tour was the highlight of my Alaskan vacation. I can’t recommend it highly enough to other travelers. David Hick’s and N2 Alaska made our experience a once in a lifetime memory.”

– David L.

One of the most distinctive and historical structures in Alaska is Don Sheldon’s Mountain house, overlooking the Ruth Amphitheater at the top of the Ruth Glacier. Our Ruth Amphitheater scenic flightseeing tour gives the passenger a good look at both the amphitheater and the spectacular Ruth Gorge.  At the start, you’ll depart from Talkeetna and experience the vast river and forest lands on the short trip over to the Alaska range.

The river and forest lands are home to Alaska’s wild game such as black bear and moose. In addition, there are occasional lodges to be sighted along the lake shores, often only accessible by float plane. Our Ruth Amphitheater scenic flights will include flying up the Ruth Glacier, through the Ruth Gorge, (the deepest gorge in the world), look upon the vertical mile granite face of Mt. Dickey and the massive Moose’s Tooth as you approach the gateway to the Don Sheldon amphitheater. The scale and size of this alpine area lets your eyes feed your brain more then it can absorb. Your flight will continue around the amphitheater and head back at a lower altitude allowing you to see more details of the glaciers.  Once back over vegetation, you will have a chance to see moose or bear on the return flight to Talkeetna. Mt. McKinley scenic flights by N2 Alaska will provide photo opportunities of a lifetime.

The largest mountain in North America, Denali has a larger bulk and rise than Mount Everest. Although the summit of Everest is higher at  29,029 feet (8,848 m), it sits on the Tibetan Plateau at about 17,000 feet (5,200 m), giving it a real vertical rise of a little more than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). The base of Denali is roughly 2,000 feet (610 m), giving it an actual rise of 18,000 feet (5,500 m).

Best Flight-Seeing company around!

When we flew with David Hicks and N2 Alaska, it was a dreary day. We didn’t have any chance of seeing Denali so our expectations were low. However, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. David spotted a moose for us and took us over magnificent mountains and glaciers and glacial rivers. Being a resident of these mountains for years, he was full of knowledge and experiences that were fun to hear. If we had been in Talkeetna for another day, we would have signed up for another flight-seeing tour with him!
